The NEMTAC Certified Stretcher Operator program combines required education with hands-on skills validation for personnel involved in non-emergency stretcher transportation.

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider course is intended for healthcare professionals, trained responders, and others who need to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies.

• Effective ventilations
• Relief of choking
• Single-rescuer and team response
• High-performance resuscitation teams

Participants who successfully complete all course and skills requirements receive the applicable American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard.

• Basic first-aid care

Participants who successfully complete the required knowledge and hands-on skills evaluations receive the applicable HSI course-completion certification.

Bloodborne Pathogens training helps employees understand occupational exposure risks and the steps they should take to protect themselves and others.

Course topics include:

• Understanding bloodborne pathogens

• Universal and standard precautions

• Cleaning and disinfection
• Safe handling and disposal practices
• Responding to an exposure incident
• Reporting and follow-up procedures

This operational safety course is designed for NEMT personnel and others responsible for transporting passengers who use portable oxygen equipment. It focuses on transportation safety, equipment awareness, hazard recognition, and appropriate response procedures.

Course topics include:

• Common portable oxygen systems
• Pre-transport equipment checks
• Cylinder handling and storage
• Safe vehicle placement and securement
• Fire and ignition hazards
• Smoking and open-flame restrictions
• Passenger and equipment monitoring
• Identifying equipment concerns
• Responding to leaks or equipment problems
• Documentation and incident reporting
• Understanding the limits of the driver’s role

This is an operational transportation-safety course and does not authorize participants to prescribe oxygen, change a passenger’s ordered flow rate, or provide medical care beyond their professional scope. Participants receive a certificate of completion.
