About Our Founders

Scott and Amy Symonds founded SMART Ride LLC with a shared commitment to serving others and improving access to care throughout the Monadnock Region and beyond.

Scott has dedicated more than 30 years to public safety and emergency medical services. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of leadership and operational roles within fire and EMS organizations, and he continues to serve as an EMS educator, public safety advocate, and community leader. His extensive experience has provided him with a deep understanding of the critical connection between transportation, healthcare access, and positive patient outcomes.

Amy brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, elder care, and home health services and EMS. As an EMS provider and a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), she has worked directly with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring supportive care. Her leadership experience includes managing a home care agency with more than 30 caregivers serving clients throughout the region. Her passion for compassionate service and person-centered care continues to shape SMART Ride's approach to transportation.

Beyond their professional experience, Scott and Amy have firsthand knowledge of the transportation challenges faced by individuals with mobility limitations and complex healthcare needs. As parents navigating transportation services for their daughter, Paige, they have personally experienced the difficulties of finding transportation that is safe, reliable, respectful, and responsive.

These experiences inspired the creation of SMART Ride LLC. Today, the company remains committed to delivering Transportation with Purpose—connecting passengers to healthcare, family, community resources, and greater independence through safe, dependable, and compassionate transportation services.

At SMART Ride LLC, our primary mission is to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate non-emergency medical transportation services for individuals traveling to and from hospitals, healthcare facilities, rehabilitation centers, dialysis treatments, medical offices, and other essential appointments.

From the moment you contact SMART Ride, our goal is to provide responsive, courteous, and personalized service. Every transportation request is handled by knowledgeable local staff who understand the communities we serve, current traffic conditions, weather impacts, and the unique transportation challenges faced by our region's residents.
